The Uttarakhand Postal Department has launched a new initiative to expand its reach to youth. Under this initiative, it plans to open Gen-G post offices in educational institutions across the state. These post offices will provide services tailored to the needs of youth.
This initiative will completely upgrade post offices to attract youth. Gen-G post offices will include Wi-Fi access, coffee shop-like facilities, and modern interiors. Under this new model, post offices will be established on college campuses to connect with more youth.
According to post office officials, reaching out to students will help them better understand its services. In addition, Gen-G will also provide internship opportunities and information about various post office schemes. The objective of launching Gen-G post offices is to make the post office and its services accessible and attractive to youth. This is a new innovative concept.
Starting in Pauri-Nainital
The first phase of this new initiative will begin in educational institutions in Pauri and Nainital. Gen-G-friendly post offices will be operated in these two locations. In the second phase, Gen-G post offices will be opened in Dehradun and then in other locations.
Gen-G post offices are a new concept. Although it has already been launched in Delhi, these post offices will be opened in colleges where there are more youth. This will help us connect youth with the post office. We will take the post office to Gen-G. Efforts have already begun
