Apart from this, the Hydromet Division of the Meteorological Department has issued a warning regarding floods in many districts. In such a situation, the State Emergency Operations Center has sent a letter to the District Magistrates asking them to be cautious.
On September 1, due to excessive rain in Dehradun, Pithoragarh, Bageshwar, Nainital, a red alert has been issued and yellow alert for the rest of the districts. On September 2 also, due to heavy rain in Dehradun, Chamoli, Bageshwar districts, red alert has been issued and yellow alert for the rest of the districts.
On September 3, a yellow alert has been issued due to heavy rains. The State Emergency Operations Center has sent a letter to the District Magistrates of Dehradun, Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli and Bageshwar, mentioning the alert of the respective date of the Meteorological Department, asking them to take necessary precautions.
1143.8 mm of rain has already occurred in the state
This monsoon season, 1143.8 mm of rain has already occurred in the state. According to the Meteorological Department, from 8.30 am on 29th to 8:30 am on Saturday, 63 mm of rain has fallen in Khatima. Ukhimath has received 57.8 mm of rain, Kuthnaur 49, Barakot 45, Janaki Chatti has received 35 mm of rain. Similarly, Uttarkashi has recorded 31 mm of rain, Ganganagar 25.6 mm, Karnaprayag 23.8 mm, Joshimath 22.4 mm of rain.
According to the Central Flood Control Room of the Irrigation Department, till 3 pm on Saturday, the water level of Ganga in Maya Kund Rishikesh and Gori River in Madkot is increasing in the state, while the water level of some rivers is decreasing or is stable.
