Which is proving to be effective in their self-protection. Terai Eastern Forest Department has now equipped the field workers patrolling in its forest with electric smart stick as well as bear spray and LED headlight.
DFO Terai Eastern Forest Division Himanshu Bagdi said that the forest of Terai division is very dense. Where a large number of violent wildlife also live. It has been seen many times that during the patrol of forest workers, violent animals try to attack the forest workers. Due to which the employees remain in danger, in view of this, the Forest Department has for the first time provided electric smart stick, bear spray as well as LED headlight to the forest patrol team. Through which the forest workers will be able to patrol in the forest.
He told that the specialty of the electric smart stick is that during the attack of a violent wild animal, the forest worker can drive it away with the current of the stick. Apart from this, bear spray can also be used to drive it away during the attack. The specialty of the spray is that during the attack of a wild animal, the animal will run away due to the foul smell of the spray. Apart from this, LED headlight has also been provided. The forest worker can keep both his hands free by putting the light on his head and can keep an eye on other activities during patrolling.
He told that the Terai forest is adjacent to the border of Uttar Pradesh to the Nepal border. Due to which more seriousness has to be taken regarding patrolling and security. Usually, every forest worker does not have a weapon during forest patrolling. Due to long and foot patrolling, the staff often gets tired due to carrying a gun on the shoulder. In view of this problem of forest workers, forest workers are being equipped with new technologies. The special thing is that the current and spray coming out of the electric smart stick does not cause any harm to the wildlife.
It should be noted that efforts are being made in Uttarakhand for a long time to equip the forest workers with high-tech equipment. So that the forest workers can have ease during patrolling. Also, the forest workers can be protected from wild animals.
