On the occasion of the Home Guard and Civil Defence Foundation Day, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami released the annual calendar. He also made important announcements. Home Guard personnel will receive 12 casual leaves per year. Female Home Guards will receive maternity leave.
CM Dhami announced that an incentive of ₹200 will be given for deployment above 9,000 feet, similar to the police and SDRF. Home Guards who have received SDRF training will receive an additional ₹100. Uniform allowance has also been reinstated. Food allowance will also be increased by 50 percent. Training allowance has been increased from ₹50 to ₹140.
Paid tribute to the first CDS
CM Dhami also paid tribute to the late General Bipin Rawat, India’s first Chief of Defence Staff, by offering a wreath at his statue in the park at Kanak Chowk on his fourth death anniversary. The Chief Minister recalled General Rawat’s indomitable courage, leadership, and supreme dedication to the nation, calling him the pride of Uttarakhand and the country. He said that General Bipin Rawat’s life is an inspiring example of patriotism, discipline, and dedication, which will forever inspire generations to serve the nation.
The Chief Minister, along with the public representatives, soldiers, and citizens present, observed a two-minute silence and prayed for the departed soul and reiterated the state government’s commitment to honor the martyrs.
