Following a steadily increasing number of criminal incidents, the Uttarakhand Police has prepared to launch a major verification campaign across the state. Director General of Police Deepam Seth has directed the state to launch a comprehensive verification campaign to identify suspicious individuals.
The DGP stated that special teams have been formed at every police station level. Regular reviews will be conducted from the CO to the IG range level, and responsibilities will be assigned. This campaign is being launched to protect women, senior citizens, and the general public.
Strict action will be taken against suspicious and criminal elements to maintain a fear-free environment in the state. Delivery agents associated with companies like Amazon, Zomato, and Blinkit will also be verified as a priority under the campaign. Security guards, cab drivers, and employees in industrial areas will also be checked.
The following locations will be inspected: multi-story apartments, rental houses, PGs, homestays, hotels and guest houses, ashrams and dharamshalas, industrial areas and contractors, home delivery agents and e-commerce employees, malls, gyms, coaching centers, schools, universities, beauty parlors, etc.
These individuals will be under special surveillance:
– Foreign nationals staying illegally
– People overstaying their visas
– Illegal immigrants and suspected foreigners
– Landlords who hire tenants without police verification
– Delivery agents and security personnel will also be subject to verification
– Mining businesses and property dealers
