Since morning, a crowd of devotees is gathering in Shiva temples for Jalabhishek. On the occasion of the first Monday of Sawan, CM Dhami performed special worship. The ancient Kamleshwar Mahadev temple is the center of devotion, worship and faith
The ancient Siddhapeeth Kamleshwar Mahadev temple of Srinagar Garhwal Mandal has become a center of special devotion and devotion in the month of Sawan. This temple is not only a symbol of faith for the devotees of Lord Shiva in Uttarakhand, but it is also considered to be one of the five Maheshwar Peethas, where it is called Siddha Peeth due to attainment of Siddhis.
Special Maha Aarti is organized. During Sawan, Shivling is worshipped in the temple with traditional rituals like Rudrabhishek, Panchamrit bath, Abhishek with Ganga water and milk and offering of Bel leaves. Devotees start gathering in the temple premises from the morning itself. Special Maha Aarti is organized on Monday of Sawan. The holy month of Sawan becomes not just a religious ritual in the Kamleshwar Mahadev temple, but a powerful medium to move towards self-purification, devotion and salvation. The atmosphere here fills the devotees with spiritual energy, which helps in giving a new direction to life. Mythological belief and historical importance: There is a mythological belief that Kamleshwar Mahadev Temple is the same place where Lord Rama offered 108 lotus flowers and performed Rudrabhishek to get rid of the sin of Brahmahatya. This place is also associated with the Panch Kedar tradition.
Here Lord Vishnu offered thousand lotus flowers and received the Sudarshan Chakra and Lord Krishna performed Khad Deepak Puja with the desire of having a child. Even today, childless couples perform this worship on Kartik Shukla Chaturdashi. In the month of Sawan, devotees offer 1.25 lakh Bel leaves and pray for happiness, prosperity and child. This month is considered to be dedicated to Shiva, in the memory of Shiva drinking Halahal poison during the churning of the ocean.
