To commemorate National Forensic Science Week, the Department of Forensic Science at Devbhoomi Uttarakhand University successfully organized the annual flagship event, “Evidentia 3.0,” which established its unique identity at the national level.
Evidentia was launched at the university level in 2023. While Evidentia 1.0 was limited to the university, 70 participants participated at the national level in Evidentia 2.0. This year, the number of participants in Evidentia 3.0 increased to 170, reflecting its growing influence and academic importance.
The event was inaugurated by Chief Guest Dr. N.C. Pant (Retired Joint Director, FSL Uttarakhand). Also present on the occasion were University Vice-Chancellor Mr. Aman Bansal, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Ajay Kumar, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Ritika Mehra, and Prof. Dr. Sandeep Sharma.
Distinguished guests included Mr. Abhishek Vashisht and Prof. Dr. A.K. Jaiswal presented guest lectures, sharing insightful insights on emerging forensic fields.
Special highlights of the program included “Hands-On Workshops – Forensic Facial Reconstruction” (conducted by Dr. Aman Chaudhary and Dr. Arjun Kundu) and “Mobile Forensics” (conducted by Mr. Ashish Kuntal), which provided participants with hands-on experience with modern forensic techniques.
Evidentia was founded in 2023 by Ms. Apoorva Narad, Program Coordinator. She played a key role in successfully hosting the event for the third consecutive year, establishing it at the national level. The guidance and hard work of the departmental faculty also contributed significantly to this success.
The program included academic activities as well as interesting competitions, with “Detective of the Year” being a special highlight. Participants showcased their investigative and forensic skills. Cultural performances also added to the liveliness of the event.
