Hyderabad: Indian Railways has given good news to its passengers. The popularity of Vande Bharat trains with high-speed and modern facilities is increasing continuously. In view of this, the Railway Board has taken a big decision to increase the number of coaches in these trains on many important routes. This will provide more seats to the passengers and the problem of waiting tickets will also be solved to a great extent.
Railway’s new plan
The Railway Board studied the occupancy and popularity of Vande Bharat trains till July 2025. The report clearly showed that the demand for these trains is increasing every day and seats are full on most routes. Currently, Vande Bharat trains are being run with 8 and 16 coaches. But now the Railways has decided to increase three trains from 16 to 20 coaches and four trains from 8 to 16 coaches.
Railway officials say that with these changes, passengers will experience more comfortable travel. Also, the old 8 and 16 coach racks will be used to start Vande Bharat services on other new routes. That means this high-speed train will reach more parts of the country in the coming time.
On which routes will the number of coaches be increased?
Railways has decided to increase coaches in seven major trains:
Mangaluru Central–Thiruvananthapuram Central (20631/32): 16 to 20 coaches
Secunderabad–Tirupati (20701/02): 16 to 20 coaches
Chennai Egmore–Tirunelveli (20665/66): 16 to 20 coaches
Madurai–Bengaluru Cantt (20671/72): 8 to 16 coaches
Deoghar–Varanasi (22499/00): 8 to 16 coaches
Howrah–Rourkela (20871/72): 8 to 16 coaches
Indore–Nagpur (20911/12): 8 to 16 coaches
What will be the benefit to the passengers?
This decision will provide many benefits to the passengers.
More seats will be available, due to which tickets will be easily available.
The problem of waiting tickets will be eliminated to a large extent.
Reducing crowd will make travel more comfortable.
Vande Bharat services will also be started on new routes using old coaches.

Railways says that the success of Vande Bharat trains is laying a strong foundation for future high-speed rail projects. Railways is constantly taking steps towards improvement with the aim of providing fast, safe and comfortable travel to passengers across the country.
