Rudrapur: Rudrapur Kotwali police of Udham Singh Nagar district arrested three accused who misbehaved with the police team during checking and escaped in a car by showing a pistol. The accused also fired at the police team to avoid arrest. In retaliation, one accused has also been injured in the firing done by the police team. The injured is undergoing treatment. After which the accused will be produced in the court.
According to the police, on July 10, Sub Inspector Chandan Singh Bisht posted in Rudrapur Kotwali gave a complaint that during patrolling late night on July 9, some youths in a Creta car near Indra Chowk abused the police and threatened them by showing a pistol. When the vehicle was stopped, they damaged the government vehicle and fled.
In view of the seriousness of the incident, a case was immediately registered in the case and a team was formed. The team identified the accused with the help of CCTV footage, vehicle number, surveillance and SOG and raided their hideouts. During this, on July 12, information was received that the accused were coming from Bilaspur to Rudrapur in a white car. Based on the information, a blockade was done on Rampur Road. When an attempt was made to stop the suspicious car, the accused tried to escape by driving the vehicle fast. When the accused tried to escape by leaving the car in a field near Baradari after being chased, the team surrounded the accused from all sides.
During this, the accused opened fire on the police team, in which the police team narrowly escaped. In retaliation, one of the accused was shot in the leg. After which all three accused were arrested from the spot.
During interrogation, the accused have given their names as Rishu Srivastava resident of Hardoi Uttar Pradesh, present tenant Pantnagar Rudrapur (injured), Khush Nandu resident of Gadarpur and Virendra Sahni alias Vicky resident of Rudrapur Udham Singh Nagar. The accused told that they have carried out incidents of robbery, snatching etc. by showing pistol in places like Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and New Delhi. The injured accused Rishu is undergoing treatment in the district hospital. The criminal history of the accused is being investigated. All the accused will be arrested under relevant sections and produced before the court.
