Hardly anyone living in the Nawada colony can imagine that elephants can reach that place. When the elephants reached this residential area in the middle of the city, they not only damaged the vehicles parked there, but also broke the walls and doors of the houses while trying to enter them.
Elephants vandalized and created havoc: Wild animals are continuously entering residential areas in Uttarakhand. There are many areas in Kumaon and Garhwal where tigers, elephants and other wild animals are openly roaming on the roads. Haridwar is also very troubled by such wild animals. Here too, elephants come many times from the National Highway to the banks of the Ganga. The latest case is from the Nawada area of the capital Dehradun. In Nawada, two elephants entered the colony with their children at around 2 o’clock late at night. The elephants vandalized the vehicles parked in the colony.
Tried to enter houses, broke doors, railings: This sequence continued for about 2 hours. It is being told that the elephants damaged four scooters and more than half a dozen vehicles and broke their windows. The vehicles have suffered many types of damage. Not only this, these elephants have damaged the walls of some houses. Not only this, the elephants also tried to enter a house. Due to which the railing and wall have also been damaged. The people of this area are scared after this entire incident last night.
Forest department shocked, will give compensation to everyone: According to DFO Neeraj Sharma of the capital Dehradun, the forest department is also shocked by this incident. After this incident, the forest department has deployed some of its employees in this area of Nawada. A big ditch is being dug at the place from where these elephants entered the colony. So that the elephants do not come to this residential area again. According to Neeraj Sharma, a proposal for tar flood is also being sent to the government. So that wild animals do not come to this area again. Along with this, a report will be made on the damage caused by elephants to people’s vehicles and houses and everyone will be compensated.
