The drug-free campaign continues apace in Uttarakhand. Continuous raids are underway in the Kumaon region. In this connection, today, under the directives of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and Health Minister, and under the guidance of Health Secretary Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar, a joint team of the Drug Controller Department and the Special Task Force (STF) conducted a major operation in Banbhulpura, Haldwani.
During the joint inspection, five medical stores were searched. Irregularities were found at three of these stores, prompting notices to be issued seeking answers. The purchase and sale of one medical store was immediately halted, and the firm was shut down on the spot.
The most serious case was reported at KGN Medical Store, where 947 Tramadol capsules were recovered. The store owner failed to produce any bills or documents. Consequently, the Drug Department has recommended revoking the firm’s license. Separate action has been initiated under the NDPS Act 1985, and the medical store was sealed on the spot. Teams from the Drug Controller Department, Tehsil Administration, and Special Task Force (STF) were involved in this operation.
Health Secretary Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, a zero-tolerance policy has been adopted across the state against drugs and substandard medicines. The campaign to protect the state’s citizens, especially the youth, from the clutches of drug abuse will continue, and the strictest action will be taken against those found guilty
