Rudraprayag: The doors of Lord Madmaheshwar, world famous as the second Kedar among the Panch Kedars and situated amidst the beautiful velvety meadows, have been opened with Vedic hymns and chanting of mantras. On this occasion, 667 pilgrims witnessed the opening of the doors. Along with this, they prayed and offered water and wished for world peace and prosperity. As soon as the doors of Lord Madmaheshwar opened, the yatra halts started to become lively again.
On 21st May, at Brahma Bela, in Gaundar village, the head priest Shivling of Madmaheshwar or Madmaheshwar Dham performed many pujas under Panchang Poojan and invoked thirty-three crore deities including Lord Madmaheshwar. Under which, at 5 am, the movable idol of Lord Madmaheshwar was decorated grandly and aarti was performed. Then the moving idol of Lord Madmaheshwar left for Kailash from Gaundar village.
When Lord Madmaheshwar’s moving idol festival palanquin left for Kailash, devotees welcomed it with flowers and Akshatras at various stops of the yatra including Gaundar village. People also offered red and yellow clothes and made wishes. Lord Madmaheshwar’s palanquin rested after blessing the devotees at various stops of the yatra.
At 11 am, Madmaheshwar Dham’s Bhandaari Madan Singh Panwar and Vishambar Panwar invited the palanquin to come to the Dham by blowing conch shells from the Dham. On which the palanquin left for the Dham. Lord Madmaheshwar’s moving idol festival palanquin reached the Dham and did three parikramas of the main temple. Also bowed their heads in the subsidiary temples.
Madmaheshwar’s gates opened at 11:10 am: Lord Madmaheshwar’s gates were opened for summer season at 11:10 am with Vedic hymns and chanting of mantras. After the gates were opened, Pandit Kaladhar Semwal performed purification yagna as per tradition. Whereas, hundreds of devotees prayed for happiness and prosperity by pouring water on the self-manifested linga of Lord Madmaheshwar.
On the auspicious occasion of the gates opening, a huge feast was organized by the Public Works Department Ukhimath with the special cooperation of Chief Engineer Mukesh Parmar and social worker Narayan Dutt Juyal. Assistant Diwara Yatra in-charge Prakash Purohit said that the movement of devotees is continuing after the gates were opened.
Superb presentation of mythological jagaras enthralled the mind: On the auspicious occasion of opening of the doors, Vilochana Rawat, Meena Bahuguna, Hemlata Bisht, Sushila Bhandari, Lakshmi Negi, under the leadership of Jagar singer Rameshwari Bhatt, gave a superb presentation of mythological jagaras based on the glory of Lord Madmaheshwar.
