Senior state activist, former central president of UKD, and former cabinet minister Diwakar Bhatt was cremated with full state honors at the Kharkhari crematorium. District Magistrate Mayur Dixit, representing the Chief Minister, offered a wreath. A large crowd also paid floral tributes and bid farewell.
Son Lalit Bhatt lit the funeral pyre of his father. A guard of honor was given in the presence of former Chief Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, rank holder Om Prakash Jamdagni, former ministers Dhan Singh Rawat and Pritam Rawat, MLA Adesh Chauhan, former cabinet minister Madan Kaushik, BJP district president Ashutosh Sharma, Senior Superintendent of Police Pramod Dobal, City Magistrate Kushm Chauhan, HRDA Secretary Manish Kumar, SP City Abhay Pratap Singh, CO Shishupal Negi, and a large number of UKD workers.
Former cabinet minister Diwakar Bhatt, who had been ill for a long time, passed away on Tuesday evening. He breathed his last at his residence in Shivalok Colony, Haridwar. The death of the top UKD leader has plunged the state, including party workers, into mourning. Meanwhile, political parties have also described this as an irreparable loss for Uttarakhand. According to family members, he had been seriously ill due to five consecutive brain strokes. Prior to his death, he was brought home to Haridwar from a private hospital in Dehradun the morning before his death. The news of his death came at 4 p.m. Diwakar Bhatt was born on August 1, 1946, in Supar village, Patti Badiyar Garh, Tehri district. He had been living in Haridwar for a long time.

Condolences from various political parties, including District Magistrate Mayur Dixit, expressed their condolences on the demise of the state agitator. Meanwhile, people continued to arrive at the residence of senior state agitator and former Cabinet Minister Diwakar Bhatt. Everyone offered condolences to the bereaved family. District Magistrate Mayur Dixit stated that, in accordance with the Chief Minister’s instructions, Diwakar Bhatt’s body will be taken to Kharkhari cremation ground with full state honors.
79-year-old Diwakar Bhatt’s family includes his son Lalit Bhatt and daughter-in-law, as well as a grandson and granddaughter. Among those who offered condolences to the family were Congress state president Ganesh Godiyal, prominently city MLA Madan Kaushik, UKD officials, and a large number of city residents who arrived at the residence.
