Haldwani: After the release of the list of District Panchayat President candidates of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Congress has also declared its candidate from the Nainital District Panchayat President seat. Congress has declared Pushpa Negi, who won the election from Ramgarh District Panchayat seat, as its candidate. While Devki Bisht has been declared its candidate for the post of vice-president.
Congress has claimed to win the election by welcoming its candidate with flower garlands by holding a press conference in a private hotel in Haldwani. On this occasion, Leader of Opposition Yashpal Arya said that Congress and Congress-supported candidates have won in large numbers in the District Panchayat and Area Panchayat. Congress candidates are definitely going to win the post of District Panchayat and Block President.
He said that BJP has lost the trust of the people and the recently held Panchayat elections are proof of this. He alleged that BJP is adopting all kinds of tactics in the District Panchayat President election. Pushpa Negi, the authorized candidate of Congress from Nainital District Panchayat seat, is moving towards victory.
Yashpal Arya said that BJP is trying to weaken democratic values by using money power. Also, an attempt is being made to capture the panchayat elections by making a big mess in the reservation. He expressed confidence that Congress will win this election and ‘milk will come out’. He further said that the public has made it clear that dictatorship will not be tolerated in democracy and BJP will be shown the way out in the assembly elections of the year 2027.
Haldwani MLA Sumit Hridayesh, former MLA Sanjeev Arya, District President Rahul Chhimwal, Metropolitan President Govind Bisht, former District President Satish Nainwal and many other officials were present in the program. On this occasion, the name of Pushpa Negi was officially announced for the post of Nainital District Panchayat President. Also, District Panchayat members Poonam Bisht and Devki Bisht were also present.
District Panchayat President candidate Pushpa Negi has claimed that she is going to win the district panchayat seat. A large number of members have come forward in her support and members will vote in her name in the elections.
