Dehradun: Relief and rescue work is still going on in the disaster-hit Dharali area of Uttarkashi, but the weather is causing problems in this rescue operation. The road is already destroyed. In such a situation, rescue is being carried out by air only, but due to bad weather, not only the rescue is stopping, but helicopters are also not able to fly. Due to which there are problems in delivering essential goods, but to ensure that people do not face any problem amid the weather, footpath and river are being used.
Bad weather caused problems in heli rescue: Due to bad weather in Uttarakhand, helicopters are not able to fly. Due to this, the teams engaged in relief and rescue work in Dharali are also facing a lot of problems. There are also problems in delivering the food items which are delivered by helicopter, but the SDRF team is not giving up even after the road is closed and the air route is packed. The SDRF team is now taking the help of the river to deliver food and other essential items.
Patch being crossed by raft in Sonagad area: Especially in the Sonagad area, due to high water level and strong current of Bhagirathi river, normal movement had come to a complete halt. In such challenging circumstances, the SDRF team, with the help of rescue boat (raft), safely transported essential ration material and gas cylinders to another place. Not only this, about 50 people were safely taken across the river, which could provide them relief.
The operator was swept away with the Pocland machine in Dabrani: Let us tell you that the Gangotri National Highway was completely washed out in Sonagad and Dabrani. The work of opening it is going on. Recently, during road cutting at the wash out place in Dabrani, the Pocland machine suddenly fell into Bhagirathi. In which the operator also fell into Bhagirathi along with the Pocland and was swept away. Nothing has been known about the operator yet.

Those who have lost their loved ones are still looking at the soldiers engaged in the rescue operation with very hopeful eyes. The homes built with their hard-earned money of years were destroyed in a moment. They were swept away in the flood, which could not be found till date. The flood took away everything, but even now the people of Dharali have not lost hope.
