Devprayag:-A car lost control and fell into a ditch near Payal village on Devprayag Pauri Motor Road. Two persons died on the spot in the accident. The incident is reported to have taken place late in the evening. On receiving the information, Bah Bazar Devprayag police station in-charge Sandeep Chauhan along with his team immediately reached the spot. He conducted a rescue operation here.
Police station head Chauhan said that the rescue operation was started after receiving information late in the evening. He said that the accident happened while returning from Devprayag. The body of one of the deceased has been pulled out of the ditch after a four-hour struggle. Efforts are still underway to recover the other body.
He said that due to the dense forest and darkness, the bodies of police personnel in relief and rescue are facing huge difficulties in bringing to the road. The deceased have been identified as Rajendra and Jaspal, police station in-charge Chauhan said. The work of bringing the other body is still going on.
