After the accident at the Mansa Devi temple, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami directed to allow devotees to enter the major religious places of the state only according to the carrying capacity. Describing the accident in Haridwar as unfortunate, he said that guidelines have been given to the officials to prevent recurrence of such incidents in future. Arrangements are being strengthened at religious places where a large number of devotees and pilgrims come for darshan. Priority is being given to possible expansion of sites, parking and traffic management and adherence to safety standards.
CM Dhami was talking to journalists at FTI on Monday. He clarified that these arrangements will be strictly implemented at all major religious places of the state including Mansa Devi temple. On the question asked on Panchayat elections, the Chief Minister said that unprecedented enthusiasm has been seen among the people across the state for the three-tier Panchayat elections. Voters have shown special awareness to elect the government of the villages. Due to this, the voting percentage has increased in the first phase. Said that the representatives of three-tier Panchayat elections have a big contribution in the development of Panchayats
These are the most crowded religious places in Kumaon
1-Kainchi Dham-
Baba Neeb Karori Maharaj’s ashram is located at a place called Kainchi in Nainital district. For the last few years, the number of people coming here to see Baba is increasing continuously. On an average, 10-12 thousand people reach here to see Baba every day. On Saturdays and Tuesdays, this number increases to 15-18 thousand. On June 15, the foundation day of the ashram, the number of devotees reaching here is between one to one and a half lakh. According to this number of devotees, the arrangements here are like a drop in the ocean.
2-Jageshwar Dham-
Jageshwar Dham located in Almora district is a group of 124 temples. It is also known as Kashi of Himalayas. Special religious events are held here on Mahashivratri and Shravan month. People from different parts of the country come here to offer Shiva worship in the month of Shravan. Apart from politics, big faces of the film industry also often come here for darshan.
3-Chitai Golu Temple-
Golu Devta Temple located in Chitai area of Almora district is also known as a temple with bells. It is believed that whoever prays to Golu Devta here with devotion, God fulfills his request. After the wish is fulfilled, the devotees offer bells here. On an average, four to five thousand devotees visit this temple every day, while on special occasions this number is more than ten thousand.
4-Haat Kalika Temple-
Haat Kalika Temple, located near Gangolihat, is dedicated to Goddess Kalika. Along with devotees, a large number of tourists also reach here. It is also known as a temple of faith of soldiers and ex-soldiers. A huge crowd of devotees gathers here on Navratri and special festivals.
5- Purnagiri Dham-
Purnagiri Dham is located near Tanakpur in Champawat district. It is also called Purnagiri Temple. It is a famous Shaktipeeth. This temple is considered one of the 51 Shaktipeeths. A fair is held here during Chaitra Navratri in which thousands of devotees gather every day.
6- Garjia Temple-
Garjia Mata temple is located near Ramnagar. It is situated on a mound in the Kosi river. Apart from Kartik Purnima, hundreds of devotees also reach here during Ganga Dussehra, Navratri, Shivratri, Uttarayani, Basant Panchami.
Remove illegal construction and encroachment yourself, otherwise the campaign is going on
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the government has already instructed the District Magistrates to remove encroachment on government lands. The officials have been asked to issue notices to the encroachers by giving legal notice to remove the encroachment or illegal construction on their own. Otherwise the campaign is going on to remove the encroachment. The CM said that till now the government has freed more than seven thousand acres of government land from encroachment in the state. He said that the government’s goal is to pursue development in the state on priority basis. He said that under the leadership of the Prime Minister, Uttarakhand has come first in achieving the goals of sustainable development in the index of the year 2023-24. He said that development is our top priority
