New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Tuesday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with her family. The Prime Minister was in Visakhapatnam on the occasion of Deepawali, so the next day i.e. on Tuesday, the CM paid a courtesy to the Prime Minister and wished him a happy Diwali. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta was accompanied by her husband Manish Gupta, son and daughter.
Regarding this meeting, the CM wrote on ‘X’ that he paid a courtesy call on the world’s most popular leader and the illustrious Prime Minister of India and conveyed his heartfelt greetings on Diwali. His companionship and blessings inspire to work more dedication in the service of Delhi with new energy and determination. He thanked the PM for the time and guidance for this meeting.
Earlier on Monday, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta had met President Draupadi Murmu on the occasion of Diwali. After this, late in the evening, Lord Lakshmi and Ganesha were worshipped on Deepawali with the family in the Chief Minister’s Jan Seva Sadan located in Rajnivas. CM Rekha Gupta while wishing the people of Delhi on Diwali had said that we take a pledge to increase love and brotherhood from each other on the festival. He had requested people to use only green firecrackers to protect Delhi from pollution, adding that it is our government’s commitment to protect the environment of the country’s capital.
In his message, the Chief Minister had said that we should celebrate Diwali, the festival of light, splendor and union, with peace and harmony. May this festival of lights bring new energy, immense happiness and prosperity in your and your family’s lives. Diwali is a festival of positivity, unity and resolutions of our shared future, not just the lights. The festival symbolizes the victory of light over darkness, truth over falsehood, and hope over despair. Information given on Chhath Puja preparations: The Delhi Chief Minister briefed the Prime Minister on the topics related to the development of the capital, the Swachh Yamuna Abhiyan and the preparations for the upcoming Chhath Puja. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said that her government is fully committed to the rejuvenation of Yamuna. Under this, the capacity of sewage treatment plants is being increased, modern technology is being adopted to purify the waste water released from the drains and the waste of the industries is being strictly monitored. Along with this, green belts are being developed on the banks of the Yamuna and dumping of illegal waste into the river is being prohibited. The Chief Minister said that the government’s goal is to revive the Yamuna as a clean and life-giving river for the people of Delhi in the coming years.
Chhath Mahaparv symbol of Indian culture: CM Rekha Gupta also told PM Modi that the Delhi government is making large-scale preparations to make Chhath Puja grand and divine this time in the capital. He said that special Chhath Ghats are being prepared on both the banks of the Yamuna river, where all necessary facilities are being ensured for the fasting people. Arrangements such as lighting, sanitation, drinking water, security, medical assistance and mobile toilets are being made at the ghats. Officials of the concerned department are constantly checking the cleanliness and water quality of the ghats so that the devotees do not face any inconvenience. The Chief Minister said that Chhath Mahaparva is a symbol of Indian culture and faith and the Delhi government wants this festival to be celebrated with reverence, devotion and cleanliness.
