A speeding car traveling from Selaqui towards Sahaspur on the Dehradun-Paonta National Highway veered off course and collided with a tree. Satyam Kumar alias Harshraj (22), a resident of Muzaffarpur, Bihar, died in the accident. Vineet (21), a resident of Bihar, and Saurabh Singh (24), a resident of Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, were seriously injured.
Vineet is undergoing treatment at Doon Hospital, while Saurabh Singh is at Graphic Era Hospital in Dhulkot. The deceased and the two injured are students at JBIT in Sahaspur.
Police station in-charge Shankar Singh Bisht stated that a report of a car hitting a tree near the Big Mosque in Rampur was received at around 2:30 a.m. on Saturday night. A police team arrived at the scene. The car was badly damaged. Three young men were in the car, all three of whom were seriously injured.
The three injured were transported to the Community Health Center, Sahaspur, by 108 emergency ambulance, where doctors declared Satyam Kumar dead. Vineet and Saurabh Singh were referred to a higher center for treatment.
Vineet is undergoing treatment at Doon Hospital, and Saurabh Singh at Graphic Era Hospital in Dhulkot. Both remain in critical condition. After completing the Panchnama, the bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination. The families of the deceased and injured have been informed.
