Ramnagar: The administration’s tough stance against illegally operating madrasas in Ramnagar in Nainital district continued for the second day. On Thursday, the administrative team conducted unannounced inspections of several madrasas and mosques in the city. SDM Pramod Kumar, Tehsildar Manisha Markana, Assistant Minority Welfare Officer Jasveer Singh, officials of revenue, police and education departments also participated in the action.
Giving information, SDM Pramod Kumar said that the team inspected a total of five madrasas and mosques today. In four of these places, neither madrassa operations were found nor any irregularities were found. These madrasas were locked. The operation was found to be stopped.
A complaint was received about a madrasa operating near the Nuri Masjid in Mohalla Khatari of Ramnagar that teaching work was being done secretly there. When the team reached the spot and investigated, CCTV cameras were found installed in a room of the madrasa. When the team was asked for a password to view the footage, the people present there refused to give any information. On this, the administration sealed the room on suspicion. The SDM said that in the last two days of action, a total of three madrasas have been sealed so far. This campaign will continue.
