Dehradun: After the Maharashtra assembly elections, the Congress party is raising the issue of voter list manipulation with full prominence. On August 7, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, while holding a press conference, alleged that huge irregularities have been found in the voter list from an assembly constituency in Karnataka. After this, the Congress party has launched a nationwide campaign against the government in three phases.
In this episode, the Congress is going to take out a candle march on August 14 in Dehradun, the capital of Uttarakhand, under the leadership of the party’s state president Karan Mahara. The party’s state vice-president Suryakant Dhasmana said that the leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha and former Congress president Rahul Gandhi has exposed the collusion of the ruling BJP and the Election Commission in the country. The Congress has called for a nationwide campaign against the rigging of votes. The Uttarakhand Pradesh Congress has also made preparations to make the campaign successful by expanding it on the call of the AICC (All India Congress Committee).
Giving information about the program, Suryakant Dhasmana said that the ‘Vote Chor Gaddi Chhod’ campaign will be started by taking out a candle march tomorrow on August 14. He told that candle marches will be taken out on August 14 in the capital Dehradun and Haridwar. While candle marches will be organized in other districts on August 16. Apart from this, from August 22 to December 7, the party will take out rallies against the theft of votes in various districts of the state. The details of which will be released soon by the Congress.
Along with this, in the third phase, a massive signature campaign will be run across the state on the form of ‘Vote Chor Gaddi Chhod’. In this, party workers will go door-to-door to secure their right to vote and get signatures from people against fake voting. According to Congress leaders, on August 14 at 6:30 pm, party workers under the leadership of Karan Mahara will take out a huge candle march from the Congress headquarters.
State level rallies from August 22 to September 7: During this period, rallies with large groups of people will be held in the state capitals and major cities. Which will be led by senior state and national leaders. Uttarakhand Pradesh Congress has also been asked to ensure huge crowd in the rallies by gathering delegations from all the districts. Apart from this, the top leadership of Uttarakhand Pradesh Congress has also asked to ensure full participation of all frontal organizations including Youth Congress, NSUI, Mahila Congress, Seva Dal.
‘Vote Chor Gaddi Chhod’ signature campaign from 15 September to 15 October: Under this campaign, the Congress party will collect signatures by going door to door and through public relations. District, block and division level party officials will lead this campaign in their respective areas. In which participation of common people, community leaders, professionals and local influential persons will be ensured. The form for the signature campaign will be sent to the PCC soon by the top leadership. The signatures collected will be submitted to the Election Commission and the President of India as a strong mandate of the people.
