Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, while reviewing the Tharali (Chamoli) disaster relief operations at the Disaster Operations Center on Saturday night, directed the District Magistrate to immediately release an assistance amount of Rs 5 lakh for the damaged houses to the affected people.
Along with this, he also directed to immediately give an assistance amount of Rs 5 lakh to the families of the deceased. The Chief Minister has directed that arrangements for the drainage of water from Syana Chatti should be made as soon as possible. Arrangements should be made immediately for those who have become homeless in Tharali. Along with this, rehabilitation work should also be done expeditiously.
Directed the District Magistrate and concerned officials to restore all basic needs including electricity, water, road network in the Tharali disaster affected area as soon as possible. Special attention should be paid to the quality of all types of relief material including ration distributed to the affected. Relief material and all essential items should be given to the affected people simultaneously.
During the Tharali disaster, the Chief Minister said that relief and rescue operations should be ensured in other disaster-prone areas with effective coordination. The Chief Minister also praised the work of SDRF and NDRF for effective relief and rescue operations in the Tharali disaster. In view of the Orange Alert in the state for the next two days, the Chief Minister directed all the District Magistrates to be fully prepared and keep disaster management material equipment etc. at sensitive places.
Instructions to prepare a report by forming a committee for study
The Chief Minister has directed to prepare a report by forming a committee of experts and scientists from various reputed agencies to study the pattern of disasters in Tharali of Chamoli, Saji of Pauri and Dharali of Uttarkashi district. Many senior officers including the Chief Secretary were present in the meeting.
