We will not allow madrasas in Uttarakhand to become separatist hubs that foster a ‘Jihadi’ mindset. The government has taken steps to shut down illegal madrasas that mislead children, aiming instead to establish them as centers of knowledge and moral values. This assertion was made by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. He made these remarks while addressing the “Char Saal Bemisaal” (Four Exceptional Years) event, held at the Parade Ground to mark the completion of four years of the government’s tenure. During the event, the Chief Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for 74 development projects worth ₹401 crore.
Chief Minister Dhami stated that four years ago, the people of the state shattered all myths and once again gave him the opportunity to serve the state. During his oath-taking ceremony—held on this very ground—he had pledged to restore the glory of the ‘Devbhoomi’ (Land of Gods) in accordance with the dreams of the statehood activists. Now, four years later, he can proudly assert that this pledge is rapidly moving towards fulfillment. For the first time, the state successfully hosted meetings for a global summit like the G-20, while also organizing the National Games on a grand scale.
During the ceremony, while the Chief Minister enumerated the government’s achievements over the past four years, he also took aim at the opposition and the previous Congress government. He asserted that the state is progressing at double its previous pace. In contrast, under the previous Congress administration, the mining mafia exploited the state’s resources unchecked. Through sting operations, everyone witnessed how resources were brazenly misappropriated. Scams plagued various sectors, including Patwari and Sub-Inspector recruitment, scholarships, the NH-74 project, the DENIS scheme, and even the distribution of relief material following the 2013 Kedarnath disaster. The Congress party, now devoid of any substantive issues, is attempting to mislead the public by distorting facts and spreading rumors and confusion. Much like “dyed jackals” (deceivers) caught red-handed in scams, they are now desperately trying to cover up their own tales of dishonesty. CM Dhami Presents Government’s Progress Report
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami stated that over the past four years, the state’s economy has grown by more than 1.5 times. Furthermore, in the last year alone, the state’s GSDP (Gross State Domestic Product) witnessed a 7.23 percent increase, while per capita income rose by 41 percent. During this period, more than 20,000 new industries were established in the state, and the number of startups surged from 700 to 1,750. Moreover, over 265,000 women—mothers and sisters—have become ‘Lakhpati Didis’ (women earning over one lakh rupees annually) during this time. Thanks to the state government’s sustained efforts, a 44 percent increase has been recorded in ‘reverse migration’ (people returning to the state).
A New Work Culture Developed
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami affirmed that the state government is working continuously and with full commitment to transform Dehradun into a modern and developed city. Currently, various development projects costing over ₹1,400 crore are underway in Dehradun. In contrast, during the tenure of previous governments, there were merely announcements; back then, out of every rupee sent by the Centre, only 15 paise would actually reach the people.
30,000 Youths Secure Government Jobs
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami announced that over the last four and a half years, more than 30,000 youths in the state have secured government jobs. Today, more than 100 members of the ‘copying mafia’ (exam cheating rackets) are behind bars. In cases of corruption within the state, everyone—whether a “small fish” or a “big crocodile”—is being arrested
