Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that it is very important for employees to engage in sports activities amidst the busy schedule of official duties. This is because sports bring discipline to life, relieve stress, and keep the body healthy. He said that good health is a person’s greatest asset, and sports are the most effective means to achieve this.
On Saturday, CM Dhami inaugurated the 10th Inter-Departmental Badminton Competition-2025 organized by the Uttarakhand Secretariat Badminton Club at the Multipurpose Sports Hall, Parade Ground, Dehradun. He also played badminton on the court there. The Chief Minister expressed confidence that the inter-departmental badminton competition will continue uninterrupted in the future and will instill positive energy among the employees and officers.
The state is moving towards transformation and is setting new benchmarks in development through innovations, historic decisions, and pro-people policies. Recently, Uttarakhand successfully hosted the National Games for the first time, which has led to a significant expansion of sports infrastructure and facilities in the state.
He said that continuous efforts are being made to promote sports in Devbhoomi Uttarakhand and develop the state as a “sports hub,” so that young talents can get opportunities to excel at the national and international levels.
