Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has expressed deep condolences over the death of 06 devotees in the stampede incident on the footpath of Mansha Devi temple located in Haridwar district and has given instructions to provide all possible assistance to the bereaved families.
He said that the state government stands firmly with the bereaved families in this hour of grief. The Chief Minister said that in this incident, assistance of Rs 02-02 lakh will be provided to the families of the deceased and Rs 50-50 thousand to the injured.
On the instructions of the Chief Minister, the District Magistrate Haridwar has been ordered to conduct a magisterial inquiry into the incident and the District Magistrate Haridwar has been instructed to take immediate action. Also, a thorough review of crowd management and security arrangements is being done to prevent recurrence of such incidents in future.
Secretary Disaster Management Vinod Kumar Suman, while giving information about the incident, said that 05 seriously injured devotees in this accident have been referred to AIIMS Rishikesh for better medical facilities.
Apart from this, 23 other injured devotees are being treated at the District Hospital Haridwar, where necessary medical assistance is being provided to all the injured
