The Chief Minister said that he will personally speak with Ankita’s parents regarding this matter, and the government will take future decisions based on their wishes for justice. He said that the atmosphere being created in the state due to an audio recording has affected Ankita’s family the most. An SIT has been formed to ascertain the authenticity of the audio clip that went viral on social media. No guilty party will escape action if there is evidence.

For the first time, Chief Minister Dhami clarified the government’s intentions regarding the Ankita Bhandari murder case in a press conference. He said that ensuring justice for Ankita, a daughter of Uttarakhand, has been the state government’s top priority. In this direction, the government has worked with complete seriousness, sensitivity, and transparency. It is due to the government’s strong and effective advocacy that the three culprits have been sentenced to life imprisonment.
The Chief Minister said that a Special Investigation Team (SIT) was formed under the chairmanship of woman IPS officer Renuka Devi for a fair and thorough investigation of this heinous crime, which investigated all aspects of the case in depth. The SIT had sought evidence from the public during the investigation. After this, the government also presented a strong and effective case in court. The lower court, the High Court, and the Supreme Court have also expressed satisfaction with the SIT’s investigation, which reflects the fairness and strength of the investigation.
