New Delhi: Monday brought a major relief for Bollywood actor Rajpal Yadav, who was behind bars in a multi-crore cheque bounce case. He was released from Tihar Jail on Tuesday.
The Delhi High Court granted Rajpal Yadav interim bail until March 18th, accepting his pleas on humanitarian grounds and to attend his niece’s wedding. Following the court’s order, Rajpal Yadav walked out of Tihar Jail on Tuesday evening. His fans and family members were delighted as he walked out. Upon his release, Rajpal Yadav’s face displayed a look of both fatigue and relief. His manager and family welcomed him.
Niece’s Wedding and Financial Payments Formed the Basis
During the hearing, a bench of Justice Swaran Kanta Sharma temporarily suspended Rajpal Yadav’s sentence. The actor’s lawyer told the court that Rajpal’s niece’s wedding is scheduled for February 19th in Shahjahanpur, and his attendance is crucial for the family. Before granting relief, the court imposed a strict condition: a payment of โน1.5 crore to the complainant by 3 p.m. on Monday. The actor deposited the amount via demand draft within the stipulated deadline. After the lawyer for the complainant company, Murli Projects, confirmed the payment, the court granted interim bail.
