On the occasion of the state’s 25th anniversary and its silver jubilee, the central and state governments have offered affordable air service to travelers in the state. This air service from Dehradun to Gauchar will be available seven days a week, with two flights per day.
The government has relaunched affordable air service under the UDAN scheme. This helicopter service began today, Saturday, December 15, and will be operated by Heritage Aviation. This air service was originally launched on October 8, 2021, but was discontinued in July 2022. It resumed after nearly three years.
The government has halved the fare.
The special feature of this air service is that the government has reduced the fare by almost half. Passengers will reach Gauchar from Dehradun via Tehri and Srinagar in approximately 45 minutes. Previously, the one-way fare from Dehradun to Gauchar under this scheme was approximately 8,000 rupees per passenger, but this time it has been reduced to 4,000 rupees.
Passengers will have to pay an additional 5% GST. Heritage Aviation’s Vice President Kumar Gaurav said that as per the fixed network, the company’s helicopter service will be available in the morning from Dehradun to New Tehri at 10:15, Tehri to Srinagar at 10:30, Srinagar to Gauchar at 10:45 and for return, Gauchar to Srinagar at 11:00, Srinagar to New Tehri at 11:15 and Tehri to Dehradun at 11:30.
In the afternoon flight, Dehradun to Tehri will be available at 2:30, Tehri to Srinagar at 2:45, Srinagar to Gauchar at 3:00 and then on return, Gauchar to Srinagar at 3:15, Srinagar to Tehri at 3:30 and Tehri to Dehradun at 3:45.
