The Chardham Yatra is now nearing its end. Today at 11:30 am, the doors of the Mother Ganga Temple in Gangotri were closed for the winter. Upon closing, the shrine resounded with chants of Mother Ganga. Mukhba is also ready to welcome Mother Ganga. The temple has been lavishly decorated. After the closure, Mother Ganga will be seen here.
On Bhaiya Dooj, October 23rd, the doors of the Mother Yamuna Temple in Yamunotri will be closed for the winter at 12:30 pm. After this, the festive idol of Mother Yamuna will be seen in Kharsali village.
It is worth noting that on the day of Annakut (Govardhan Puja) in the month of Kartik, the festive palanquin of Mother Ganga will depart for its winter residence in Mukhba village. Businessmen Ashish Semwal and Vinay Uniyal, associated with the pilgrimage, stated that by continuing the pilgrimage to Kharsali and Mukhba villages, the winter retreats of the Yamuna and Ganga, even during the winter, pilgrims from India and abroad can be attracted to this place. During that time, pilgrims and tourists will be able to worship Yamuna and Ganga and also witness the snowfall.
During this pilgrimage period, 1402128 pilgrims have arrived at both the Dhams. This includes 644366 pilgrims visiting Yamunotri Dham and 757762 pilgrims visiting Gangotri Dham.
The number of pilgrims will cross 50 lakhs
By April 21, the total number of devotees visiting Chardham has exceeded 49.30 lakhs. Now, by the time the doors of all three Dhams are closed, this figure will cross 50 lakhs
