The Rabi al-Awwal procession was stopped at Ghaziwali in Haridwar. After the tension, the police took the Eid ul Milad procession through another route near Balaji Dham in Ghaziwali.
Tension spread in the area on Friday after the youth of the area led by Mahamandaleshwar Prabodhanand Giri stopped the procession. The youth alleged that the procession was being taken through this route without permission, while the police immediately reached the spot and controlled the situation and took the procession forward through another route
