The cabinet will decide on the operation of Super Specialty Cancer Hospital Harrawala. Preparations are underway to hand over the operation of the hospital to Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute, New Delhi on Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode. To provide better treatment facilities to cancer patients, a 300-bed Super Specialty Cancer Hospital is ready at Harrawala in Dehradun at a cost of Rs 106 crore.
The state government has decided to operate the cancer hospital on PPP mode. Talks have been held with Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute and Research Center for the operation of the hospital by the Health Department. A decision will be taken in the cabinet on this.
Let us tell you that the foundation stone of the Super Specialty Cancer Hospital was laid in the year 2020. This hospital was constructed with the financial support of the Central and State Government under the National Health Mission (NHM). With the start of the hospital, cancer patients will not have to go to other states for treatment.
They will get the facility of all cancer related tests, consultation, radiotherapy, chemotherapy and other high level surgeries in the hospital. Health Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat says that talks are going on with Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute to run the cancer hospital on PPP mode
