Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi performed the Bhoomi Pujan (groundbreaking ceremony) for the installation of a 100-foot-tall national flag at a cost of ₹30 lakh at the D.A.V. (P.G.) College, Dehradun campus.
Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi said that the national flag is a symbol of the country’s unity, integrity, and pride. This flag is being installed with the objective of further strengthening the spirit of patriotism and respect for the nation among the youth. He said that Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is an opportunity to remember the country’s freedom struggle and the sacrifices of the martyrs.
It is noteworthy that in 2023, Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi had announced the installation of a 100-foot-tall national flag at the D.A.V. College campus during an event. Fulfilling that promise, the Bhoomi Pujan ceremony was conducted today. Minister Joshi congratulated and extended his best wishes to the college management, saying that this national flag will become a source of inspiration for future generations and will further strengthen the spirit of national service among the students. During the event, Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi also offered floral tributes at the martyrs’ memorial located on the college premises.
Present on the occasion were Rajpur MLA Khajan Das, Principal Dr. Kaushal Kumar, Management Secretary Manvendra Swaroop, Dr. Vineet Bishnoi, Student Union President Rishabh Malhotra, General Secretary Karan Negi, Councillor Yogesh, Dr. Babita Sahotra, along with the college administration, teachers, students, and other dignitaries.
