Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi, along with Public Works Department officials, inspected the construction of a valley bridge on the damaged bridge on Mussoorie Road. He also visited Vijay Colony, Nashville Road, Bhandargaon, Ghaziawala, Indranagar, Galjwadi, Sarkhet, Makdeti, Kerwan Village, and Kumalda Village in Tehri district. During the inspection, Minister Joshi assessed the damage caused by the heavy rains and met with the affected families to inquire about their well-being. He assured them of all possible support.
The Cabinet Minister issued necessary instructions to officials and directed them to immediately begin protective work in the affected area. During the inspection, Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi also inspected the damaged road and the damaged bridge in Ghaziawala. He directed the Public Works Department officials on the spot to expedite the protective work on the bridge and to begin the reconstruction of the damaged road. During this visit, he directed officials to expedite all work related to electricity and water supply in the affected areas so that the public does not face any problems.
During this visit, he presented a check for relief funds to Ajay Kumar, a resident of Makdeti village. Minister Joshi also provided ration kits to the family affected by the disaster. It is noteworthy that Ajay Kumar’s parents, Anil Kumar and Jaya Devi, tragically died in the disaster. In addition, Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi inspected the bridge damaged by heavy rains in Kumalda village, Tehri district.
Minister Joshi said that food items, ration kits, and other essential goods should be immediately delivered to the affected families. He directed officials to ensure alternative arrangements for clean drinking water, food, medical care, and education for children living in relief camps. He placed special emphasis on expediting the repair work of roads and bridges damaged by the disaster and maintaining smooth connectivity to the villages.
Following Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi’s instructions, relief materials were distributed to the disaster-affected people in Phulet village, which falls under the Mussoorie Assembly constituency. Due to the inaccessible route and landslides, road connectivity was disrupted and ration was delivered to the affected villagers through helicopter.
During the inspection, Brigadier Harish Sethi from the Army, Superintending Engineer OP Singh from PWD along with Irrigation and Jal Nigam officials were present. During this, District Panchayat member Veer Singh Chauhan, MLA representative Kiran, Village Head Harikala Pun, Anuj Kaushal, Arvind Chaupal, Village Head Rakesh Jawadi, former councilor Sundar Singh Kothal, Madan Singh Pundir, Dheeraj Thakur, former Head Leela Sharma, Kedar Joshi, Sapna Mall, Sanjay Sharma, Mandal President Rajiv Gurung, Manjeet Rawat and area residents were present.
