As part of an ongoing health awareness campaign focused on Breast Cancer in Young Women, the Military Hospital (MH) and Station Health Organisation (SHO) Dehradun jointly organised a Breast Cancer Awareness Seminar at the MH Auditorium, Dehradun Military Station. The event was conducted in collaboration with the Breast Cancer in Young Women Foundation, drawing active participation from the families of all ranks.
The seminar, held from 1630 to 1830 hours, aimed to educate and empower women with vital knowledge on breast cancer prevention, early detection, and treatment options.
The seminar commenced with an opening address by Maj Garima. Colonel Mayank Chaubey, Global Ambassador of the Breast Cancer in Young Women Foundation, delivered a keynote address highlighting the importance of awareness and support for young women affected by the disease.
A series of insightful lectures were delivered by prominent medical experts from HIMS Jolly Grant, Dehradun, including Dr. Manju Saini, Radiologist; Dr. Pragya, Gynaecologist; Dr. Anmol Mahani, Onco-Physician. These talks covered various aspects of breast cancer, including screening, diagnosis, treatment, and preventive measures.
Colonel Alok Gupta, Officer Commanding SHO, concluded the seminar with an impactful message on the critical importance of self-breast examination as a life-saving practice.
The session also featured a vibrant Q&A segment, encouraging open dialogue between the experts and the audience.
An informative health exhibition showcased materials on the preventive aspects of breast and cervical cancer, further enhancing the educational impact of the event.
As a token of appreciation, mementos were presented to Col Chaubey and the team of medical professionals for their invaluable contribution.
The event witnessed an enthusiastic turnout, with over 130 families attending, reflecting the growing commitment to women’s health within the military community.
