Rudraprayag: Road accidents are not stopping in the hilly areas of Uttarakhand. The latest case has come to light from Rudraprayag district. A Bolero vehicle suddenly lost control and fell into a gorge on the Rudraprayag-Chopra-Gadhidhar motorway. In which one person died on the spot, while another was injured. The local people immediately informed the police about this. After which the teams reached the spot and started a rescue operation.
On Sunday at 3:30 pm, the disaster control room received information that a Bolero vehicle number UK 11 CA 2645 going towards Chopra near Gadhidhar on the Rudraprayag-Chopra-Gadhidhar motorway has fallen into a gorge. On receiving the information, DDRF and SDRF personnel and 108 service were sent to the spot. It was told that at the time of the accident, two people including the driver were riding in the Bolero. The teams that reached the spot started the rescue operation by descending into the three hundred meter deep ditch from the road.
It was told that in this incident, Bolero driver Devendra Singh son of Sudama Singh, age 40 years, village Banthapala, was injured. Sanjay Singh son of Matwar Singh, age 35 years, died on the spot. The injured person was taken out of the ditch with the help of villagers and brought to the road. From where he was sent for treatment. The injured was handed over to the family after first aid.
District Disaster Management Officer Nandan Singh Rajwar said that as soon as the information of the vehicle accident on Chopra-Gadhidhar road was received, teams were immediately dispatched to the spot. He said that one person died in the incident, while one was injured. After treatment, he has been handed over to the family. At such times, incidents of landslides increase. Due to which the possibility of accidents increases.
