The injured woman’s life was barely saved after the incident in the Ogalbhatta area of the Clementtown police station area. According to Dr. Ravindra Singh Bisht, Medical Superintendent and Senior ENT Surgeon of Doon Hospital, who performed the operation, the woman had only 30 minutes of breathing left. The wound extended to the main jugular vein in her neck.
According to information, the incident occurred between 11 and 12 noon. The woman arrived at the Doon Hospital emergency room at 2 p.m. Doctors immediately rushed her to the emergency room. Her blood pressure was significantly lower than normal, and even the doctors were beginning to give up.
After several doses of anesthetic, her blood pressure began to rise. It took a considerable amount of time before the woman’s condition was restored to allow for surgery. The team of ENT doctors present at the scene operated for two hours. The operation was completed around 4:30 p.m.
Senior ENT surgeon Dr. Bisht stated that the woman had a 12 cm long, 4 cm wide, and 1.5 cm deep wound on her neck. Approximately eight veins in her neck were completely severed. Several muscles were also cut.
The main jubular vein in her neck was narrowly spared. She had lost a significant amount of blood by the time she was brought to the hospital from home. Even a slight contact with the main jubular vein would have endangered her life. She received approximately 30 stitches on her neck.
Serious Injuries to the Hands and Thighs
According to Dr. Bisht, the woman also suffered serious injuries to both her wrists and thighs. A team of doctors from the surgery department operated on her. The woman’s condition is currently stable. She is under close medical supervision. The team of doctors who performed the operation included ENT surgeon Dr. Bisht, along with Dr. Priyanka Chamoli, Dr. Asna Pant, Dr. Pooja, Dr. Sophia, and Dr. Gulsher.
