New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated Bihar Rajya Jeevika Nidhi Credit Cooperative Union Limited Bank through video conferencing on Tuesday 2 September. During this, the PM expressed grief over his late mother being abused during the India Block’s Voter Rights Yatra.
PM Modi, while addressing women through video conferencing, reacted to his mother being abused from the Congress platform. He said, “I had never imagined what happened a few days ago in this rich tradition-rich Bihar.” During this, PM Modi became emotional.
After PM Modi became emotional, the matter started gaining momentum. NDA leaders say that this matter is related to respect and dignity, and they will not tolerate it. BJP’s women leaders across the country have made sharp attacks on India Block leaders. They condemned the insult of PM Modi’s mother. They also said that the people of Bihar will take revenge for this insult by voting.
BJP MP Maya Narolia said that the comment on PM Modi’s mother is an attack not only on his mother but on the entire women society. She said that RJD and Congress have crossed all limits of decorum against the basic sentiments of the society. BJP MP Locket Chatterjee said, “Till now these people used to abuse PM Modi. Now they abused his late mother. It is surprising to think that politics will stoop so low.” She said that even the women leaders of India Alliance did not protest against the statement. She questioned the silence of West Bengal’s woman Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
Former Madhya Pradesh minister and MLA Archana Chitnis said that in front of Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi, they were using uncivilized language against PM Modi’s mother and they did not stop him. She said that the people of India will not tolerate the insult of any mother. The people of Bihar will take revenge by casting their votes. On social media, people started abusing the leaders of India Alliance. Union Minister Chirag Paswan wrote on social media that “The way in which abusive language was used for the respected Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji from the platform of Congress and RJD is tarnishing the dignity of Indian politics.” He said that even during the Lok Sabha elections, his mother was abused from the RJD platform.
After the PM’s statement “Abusing my mother is an insult to every mother”, NDA leaders announced a half-day Bihar bandh on September 4. The opposition called this NDA bandh a political drama. The Rashtriya Janata Dal and the Congress called it an attempt to divert attention from the issue of ‘vote theft’.
Anyway, this issue has now involved half the population of the country. Which seems to be becoming a big political issue in the Bihar elections. It is being considered a big step towards mobilizing half the population. The figures are witness to the fact that in the last three elections, the female vote percentage was much higher than the male vote percentage.
In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections also, the total voter turnout was 56.28 percent. Of these, 53 percent men and 59.45 percent women had cast their votes. That is, 6.45 percent more women had exercised their franchise than men, while the number of women voters is less than that of male voters.
