Dehradun: A big disclosure has been made about white and pink ration card holders in Uttarakhand. In the verification, several thousand such people have been found who have taken advantage of white and pink ration cards despite being ineligible. Now the department is going to take action against such people. The special thing is that during the recent review, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had given instructions to give the benefit of the scheme to the needy while excluding such fake ration card holders.
A verification campaign is being run across the state these days so that only the needy and eligible people in the state can get the benefit of white and pink ration cards under the food scheme. The special thing is that due to the limit of white and pink ration cards being completed in all the districts, the new applicant was not able to get its benefit. In such a situation, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had given instructions not to give the benefit of the scheme to those ineligible ration card holders.
Verification campaign run on the instructions of CM Dhami: After the instructions of the Chief Minister, a big campaign is being run across the state against those who are taking advantage of ration cards in an incorrect manner. In this episode, the verification work has been completed to a large extent in two plain districts. The surprising thing is that during the verification, some such figures have come to the fore, which are very shocking. Now after the completion of this campaign in these districts, new applicants will be able to get the benefit of the scheme.
A large number of ineligible ration card holders have been detected during verification in Dehradun district. In Dehradun district, 3332 ration card holders have been caught, who were taking advantage of the National Food Scheme by making white or pink ration cards despite being ineligible. Similarly, the verification work has progressed to a great extent in Udham Singh Nagar district as well. According to the surprising figures that have come to the fore during the verification, 1742 white ration card holders have been found ineligible in Udham Singh Nagar district. Similarly, there are 179 ration card holders who had got pink ration cards made for people below the poverty line.
Verification work continues in other districts: On the other hand, verification work is going on in other districts as well. In Nainital and Haridwar too, all ration cards are being verified for this. Yellow ration cards are made for people above the poverty line. These are the people whose annual income is more than 5 lakhs. In Uttarakhand, white ration cards are also made under the State Food Scheme. White ration cards can be made only for such people whose monthly income is up to 15000. Apart from this, pink ration cards are made for people below the poverty line. These ration cards are made under the Antyodaya Anna Yojana. Pink ration cards are made for those who earn less than four thousand rupees.
In most of the plain districts of Uttarakhand, there is a long line of people making such ration cards, but a limit has also been fixed for making such ration cards and due to this limit being completed, new ration cards were not being made at many places. In this way, due to ineligible people making ration cards, eligible people are not getting the benefit of this scheme. In view of this situation, the government has taken a tough stand on this and Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami also gave instructions to stop such fraud during the review meeting.
Perhaps the reason is that by accelerating the verification campaign on this at the district level, now ineligible ration card holders have been caught in large numbers. District Supply Officer Dehradun KK Aggarwal said that during the verification, a large number of ineligible ration card holders have been found, whose ration cards are being canceled and information about this is also being given to the rest of the concerned departments.
