A large part of the Gangotri Highway is damaged: Let us tell you that after the disaster on August 5, a large part of the Gangotri Highway is damaged. At many places the road itself has disappeared. 250 meters of Gangotri Highway near Dabrani was washed away, after which BRO machines are engaged in opening the highway, but due to bad weather, there are a lot of difficulties in opening the highway. In such a situation, local people have to walk on the highway even for everyday work.
It is worth noting that on August 5, there was a flood of water in Kheerganga at around 1.30 pm in Dharali of Uttarkashi district, which devastated the entire Dharali. The effect of this disaster of Dharali was seen in the entire Harshil valley. The Gangotri Highway from Dharali to Dabrani was also broken at many places. Since then, while the search operation is going on to find the 66 people missing in Dharali, the broken part of the Gangotri Highway is also being repaired, so that Dharali can also be reached by road.
Due to the Gangotri Highway being broken at many places, the local people are facing a lot of problems. However, the government and administration are helping the local people in every possible way. All the necessary items are being delivered by helicopter to all the surrounding areas including Dharali and Harshil, but the biggest problem in relief work is the weather.
