Hyderabad: If you have work in the bank, then finish it quickly. Because the month of August is about to start and due to the abundance of holidays in August, banks will remain closed for a total of 15 days. Regarding this, the Reserve Bank of India has released the list of bank holidays.
Let us tell you that in August, apart from Independence Day, banks will remain closed on Saturdays and Sundays along with many other holidays including Ganesh Chaturthi and Janmashtami.
Both government and private banks in the country remain closed on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month. Apart from this, there is a holiday on Sunday. Also, in each state, holidays are on different days due to local needs or religious reasons. Because of this, before going to the bank, get information about the holidays from the local branch of your bank in advance so that you can finish the bank related work in time.

August 3 – There will be a holiday on Sunday.
August 8 – Banks in Odisha and Sikkim will remain closed on account of Tendong Lo Rum Phat.
August 9 – Banks in Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh), Kanpur, Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), Bhubaneshwar (Odisha), Dehradun (Uttarakhand), Jaipur (Rajasthan), Ahmedabad (Gujarat), and Shimla (Himachal Pradesh) will remain closed on account of Raksha Bandhan and Jhulan Purnima. Also, banks will remain closed across the country on account of second Saturday.
August 10 – Sunday will be a holiday.
August 13 – Banks will remain closed in Imphal (Manipur) on account of Patriotism Day.
August 15 – Banks will remain closed across the country on account of Independence Day and Janmashtami celebrations, besides Parsi New Year (Shahenshahi).
16 August – Banks in Hyderabad (Telangana), Shillong (Meghalaya), Jammu and Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir), Ahmedabad (Gujarat), Aizawl (Mizoram), Bhopal and Ranchi (Madhya Pradesh), Chandigarh (UT), Chennai (Tamil Nadu), Dehradun (Uttarakhand), Gangtok (Sikkim), Jaipur (Rajasthan), Kanpur and Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), Patna (Bihar), Raipur (Chhattisgarh), and Vijayawada (Andhra Pradesh) will remain closed on Janmashtami (Shravan Vadh-8) and Krishna Jayanti.
17 August – Banks will remain closed across the country due to Sunday.
19 August – Bank holiday in Agartala (Tripura) on the birth anniversary of Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur.
23 August – Banks will remain closed across the country due to fourth Saturday holiday.
24 August – Sunday holiday.
25 August – Banks will remain closed in Guwahati (Assam) due to Tirubhav Tithi of Srimanta Sankardev.
27 August – Mumbai And banks in Nagpur (Maharashtra), Panaji (Goa), Ahmedabad (Gujarat), Belapur, Bengaluru (Karnataka), Bhubaneswar (Odisha), Chennai (Tamil Nadu), Hyderabad (Telangana), and Vijayawada (Andhra Pradesh) will remain closed for Ganesh Chaturthi and Samvatsari (Chaturthi Paksha) and Varasiddha Vinayaka Vrat and Ganesh Puja and Vinayaka Chaturthi.
August 28 – Banks will remain closed in Bhubaneswar (Odisha) and Panaji (Goa) on the second day of Ganesh Chaturthi and Nuakhai.
August 31 – Banks will remain closed across the country on Sunday holiday.
