Chamoli: Badrinath Highway was blocked at Bhanerpani at 5 am on Monday due to debris and boulders. Which could not be restored even till 1 pm. About 700 pilgrims are stranded on both sides of the highway.
The pilgrims are going to go on pilgrimage to Badrinath Dham and Hemkund Sahib and return after the journey. Due to the highway not opening, the police administration has stopped the travel vehicles in Chamoli Bazaar, Pipalkoti, Mayapur, Pakhi, Helang and Jyotirmath. The pilgrims who have reached here with their vehicles are facing problems due to no arrangement of food and water in the Bhanerpani landslide area.
