Hindu Raksha Sanghatana activists protested a fashion show audition at a hotel on Dehradun Road. Auditions were underway for a fashion show in preparation for the Diwali festival. Young women were walking the ramp in western attire. Several models were showcasing their skills on stage. Meanwhile, some Hindu Raksha Sanghatana activists arrived at the hotel and began protesting the auditions.
They claimed the event was against culture and traditions and demanded the immediate halt of the auditions. A heated debate ensued between the organizing committee and members of the Hindu Raksha Sanghatana to stop the auditions. Chaos erupted at the venue. Seeing the situation worsen, the organizers informed the police.
A Kotwali police team arrived at the scene and pacified both sides. Hindu Raksha Sanghatana president Raghavendra said that this is a pilgrimage city and having young women walk the ramp in skimpy clothing is against our culture and traditions. Meanwhile, club president Pankaj Chandani dismissed the protest as baseless, stating that it was merely a fashion show audition.
A commotion erupted in Rishikesh during auditions for the Miss Rishikesh contest. The girls had just arrived at the hotel for the auditions when Raju Bhatnagar, president of the Hindu Shakti Sangathan, called for the auditions to be stopped and instructed all the girls to go home. The organizers and the girls argued that if their parents didn’t have a problem, who would they be?
