New Delhi: North Central Railway (NCR) has launched a new e-book to promote tourism. This e-book gives information about major tourist destinations like Prayagraj, Mathura, Vrindavan and Agra. It will be easy to visit these places through rail routes. This initiative is not only useful for tourists, but will also provide information about historical and religious places near railway stations to the common people.
North Central Railway (NCR) has released a new e-book to promote tourist destinations spread across three states. This e-book includes information about famous places like Prayagraj, Mathura, Vrindavan and Agra. Its purpose is to provide a visual journey and detailed information to the passengers for visiting these places. This e-book will give information about rail routes, historical and religious places, and railway connectivity for tourists. It will be available on the NCR website.
NCR Chief Public Relations Officer Shashikant Tripathi said, “We have created e-books on many topics earlier, but this tourism-focused e-book is special. It will give information to tourists about heritage sites, tourist places and historical sites near railway stations, where they can easily go and catch trains to other places.” He said that this information will promote tourism. Passengers will be able to know about the historical and tourist places nearby during their journey. This e-book provides a ‘visual journey’ of the NCR region, which depicts the history, engineering marvels, religious places and culture of the region. It highlights India’s ‘rich natural heritage and diverse landscape’. NCR General Manager Upendra Chandra Joshi said that this e-book provides information about places according to railway sections, which includes major stations and trains. He praised the efforts of the railway employees and said that this book will prove to be a boon for tourists and will promote tourism in the region. This e-book provides information about the diverse tourist destinations of the NCR region spread across three states in 9 chapters. It includes rail sections like Prayagraj to Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyay Junction, Prayagraj to Ghaziabad, Veerangna Laxmibai Jhansi to Bina, Agra to Bandikui, and Mathura to Alwar. Each chapter provides information about popular and some less famous but worth visiting places.
Tripathi said, “This e-book gives a glimpse of all the tourist places in the region, including some hidden places. It will play an important role in promoting tourism and cultural relations of NCR. This book will inspire tourists to experience the cultural richness of India.”
The zone has also published the e-book ‘Amrit on Wheels’, which presents details of the entire journey of Maha Kumbh-2025 from preparation to successful organization. It is a record of the efforts made by the railway network to facilitate the movement of millions of pilgrims participating in the world’s largest religious gathering.
“It aims to inform the public about the scale of operations and the challenges faced to ensure a safe, comfortable and memorable journey for each pilgrim,” officials said.
