New Delhi: The political slugfest between the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the central government continues. On Monday morning, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a post on the social media platform X.
Kejriwal demanded that the Prime Minister implement his own promise to promote indigenous products, which comes amid growing tensions between India and the United States. It’s worth noting that US President Donald Trump recently imposed a 50% tariff on Indian goods, straining bilateral trade relations.
In his post, Arvind Kejriwal questioned the Prime Minister’s commitment to “Make in India” and the Swadeshi campaign. In his address on September 21st, PM Modi urged people to boycott foreign products and use local goods. Now, Kejriwal has demanded that the Prime Minister abandon the foreign products he allegedly uses and give up the foreign goods he uses in his daily life.
Additionally, Kejriwal demanded the closure of four American companies operating in India and accused Trump of constantly insulting India and Indians. Kejriwal wrote in Hindi, “Prime Minister, you want the public to use indigenous products. Should you start using indigenous products yourself? Give up the foreign plane you travel on every day? Give up all the foreign goods you use all day.”
Kejriwal further wrote, “Prime Minister, should you close down four American companies operating in India? Trump is insulting India and Indians every day. Should you do something too? People expect action from their Prime Minister, not sermons.” Following this post, AAP supporters praised Kejriwal’s bold stance, while critics criticized him, alleging that he too had taken advantage of government benefits while serving as Chief Minister of Delhi.
