Kishanganj: Today is the second day of Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s visit to Seemanchal. Earlier on Wednesday, Amit Shah held a major meeting in Kishanganj. Here, he discussed land ports and border security with senior officials at the Zila Parishad auditorium. The two-hour meeting developed an action plan to effectively curb illegal intruders entering Bihar. Raxaul, on the India-Nepal border, is one of the country’s 15 land ports.
Amit Shah’s Meeting in Kishanganj: Union Home Minister Amit Shah chaired a review meeting of the Land Port Authority of India (LPAI) in Bihar on Wednesday at the Kishanganj Zila Parishad auditorium. The meeting assessed the functioning and progress of the land port. The nearly two-hour meeting discussed curbing illegal intruders entering Bihar. What Happened in the Union Home Minister’s Meeting? : A nearly two-hour discussion took place at the Menchi Auditorium in Kishanganj with the ITBP Director General, the SSB Director General, the Intelligence Bureau Director, and officials from the Land Port Authority. Sources indicate that the meeting focused on border security along Nepal and Bangladesh, as well as demographic changes in the border areas. The road network and development plans for the region (Seemanchal) were reviewed.
Action Plan Prepared at Shah’s Meeting: Sources indicate that the review meeting sought feedback on several issues from officials of the district administration and central security agencies, the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) and the Border Security Force (BSF). Sources also stated that the meeting focused on improving the monitoring system along the international border. Day Two of Shah’s Seemanchal Visit: This is the second day of Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s visit to Seemanchal. On Thursday, Shah will hold a meeting with senior leaders at MGM Medical College in Kishanganj. He will then depart for Araria, where he will participate in a program at the SSB (Sashastra Seema Bal) border outpost in the Letti area and inaugurate the outpost.
Shah’s meeting at the India-Nepal border in Araria: Shah will then hold a meeting with the seven district magistrates of border districts at the Araria Collectorate. He will also hold a review meeting with the Superintendents of Police on the India-Nepal border. The review and progress of the Vibrant Village Program will also be discussed.
