It is reported that Jyoti Rautela, the state president of the Uttarakhand Mahila Morcha (women’s wing), had planned to submit a memorandum to Union Home Minister Amit Shah regarding the suicide of farmer Sukhwant in Kashipur and the controversial statement made by Girdhari Lal Sahu, husband of Uttarakhand cabinet minister Rekha Arya. Last night, while Jyoti Rautela was traveling from Haridwar to Dehradun, she was stopped by the police at the Haridwar border, leading to a heated argument with the officers. Jyoti Rautela alleges that she wanted to submit a memorandum to Home Minister Amit Shah, who was expected to visit Haridwar, concerning Sukhwant’s suicide and the actions of Girdhari Lal Sahu, but the police forcibly stopped her at the border, which she considers completely wrong.
