Rishikesh: A foreign woman died under suspicious circumstances in Muni Ki Reti police station area near Rishikesh in Tehri district of Uttarakhand. The woman had come to visit Uttarakhand with her husband and child. The police have taken the body in their custody and started investigating the case. However, the cause of death is not clear yet. The woman was originally from America.
American woman dies in Uttarakhand: According to the information received from the police, the foreign woman had reached Shivpuri near Rishikesh with her husband and son on July 17. The woman’s name was Cassandra Ion Jones, who was a resident of California, America. The woman was staying with her family at a resort located in Shivpuri area.
Woman suddenly fainted and fell at the reception: It is being told that after staying at the resort for two days, the woman checked out on Saturday afternoon, July 19. As soon as the woman reached the reception of the resort, she fainted and fell there. The resort staff also called an ambulance without delay. The woman was sent to the government hospital in Rishikesh by ambulance. During this time, the resort staff also informed the police about the matter.
Woman reached hospital as soon as information was received: As soon as information was received, the police also reached the government hospital, where the doctors told the police that the foreign woman had died. Senior Sub Inspector Yogesh Pandey of Muni Ki Reti police station said that the police has taken the body in its custody and kept it in the mortuary. The woman’s husband and son were also present there.
Police said that information about the woman’s death has also been given to the US Embassy. The cause of the woman’s death will be known only after the postmortem report. On the basis of that, the police will investigate the matter.

The police has also informed the higher officials about the matter. Apart from this, the woman’s husband says that his wife died due to the bite of a poisonous insect.
