Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan said, for the safe flight of heli service, Air Traffic Control will be established at Sahastradhara in Dehradun and Sirsi in Rudraprayag district by the first week of September. On Monday, the Chief Secretary held a meeting with the officials at the Secretariat for the security arrangements of heli services in Kedar Valley.
The Chief Secretary said, the state government will fulfill the requirements for setting up Air Traffic Control (ATS). He directed the Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority (UKADA) to deploy an in-charge at each helipad. The helipad in-charge will be responsible for ensuring the punctuality of the shuttle of heli services.
He said, trained staff should be deployed at each helipad through UCADA. SOP should be strictly implemented for the operation of the helipad. The time table of each helicopter as well as the flight number will be determined and marked on the boarding pass. It is the responsibility of UCADA to make the helicopter companies follow the rules.
Arrangement of weather officer should be made to provide forecast information from the Meteorological Department. Expenses of equipment and salary will be borne by UCADA. Apart from this, automated weather monitoring system should be installed at the identified places soon. Secretary Shailesh Bagauli, Secretary Sachin Kurve were present in the meeting
