The 26th council meeting of the State Organic Products Council was held at Kisan Bhawan Dehradun under the chairmanship of State Agriculture Minister and Chairman of Organic Products Council Ganesh Joshi. In the meeting, many important proposals related to the promotion of organic and natural farming were approved. The major decisions taken in the meeting were as follows โ 1. The proposal to work on natural farming along with organic farming by Uttarakhand Organic Products Council has been approved. 2. There was a consensus on changing the name of Uttarakhand Organic Products Council to Uttarakhand Organic and Natural Products Council (UONCB). 3. To ensure the sale of organic and natural products to farmers at a fair price, organic/natural mandis will be established at selected places in the state, which will operate on the lines of eNAM. 4. As per the guidelines of APEDA Government of India, a proposal was also passed to provide an office to the personnel of the council (Technical Officer, Assistant Marketing Officer and Internal Inspector) in each district for conducting field activities. Addressing the meeting, Agriculture Minister Ganesh Joshi said that Uttarakhand has a tradition of natural farming. Farmers should be encouraged in this direction. So that the state gets national recognition in the field of natural and organic products. He directed the officials to work in a planned manner to motivate farmers towards natural farming. The meeting was conducted by the Managing Director of the Council. On this occasion, Vice President of the Council Bhupesh Upadhyay, nominated members Niranjan Dobhal, Girish Baluni along with officials nominated from Agriculture, Horticulture, Silk, Aromatic Plant Center, Herbal Center, Pantnagar University and Government were present
