An out-of-control car hit a woman on the Uttarkashi-Lamgaon National Highway on Friday morning, killing her on the spot.
According to reports, Rekha Mehr (42), wife of Kirti Mehr, was sunbathing in her courtyard in Manpur on Friday morning. Meanwhile, a Bolero car traveling from Uttarkashi to Chaurangi lost control, broke through the boundary wall of the house, and struck the woman, killing her on the spot. Family members and nearby villagers rushed to the scene and brought her to the hospital, where doctors declared her dead.
Upon receiving information, the Kotwali police arrived at the scene and took the driver into custody and brought him to the police station. A case has been registered against the driver based on the family’s complaint
